The power supply is connected to the first electrode in the soil or water material placed above the geomembrane, and the second electrode is in contact with the conductive material under the geomembrane. The voltage applied on the geomembrane generates low current and relatively uniform voltage distribution. The current flowing through the leakage will cause a local abnormality in the potential at the leakage location, so as to determine the leakage point.
